LITURGY COMMITTEE Jackson Reeves (813) 752-8251, ext. 308

Meets monthly to discuss, plan and evaluate all liturgies, prayer services and sacramental celebrations which occur throughout the year (Ministries involved: Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Greeters, Music Ministry, Readers & Ushers).

MUSIC MINISTRY:

English: Marc Pequignot, Director of Liturgy, ext. 308, mpequignot@stclementpc.org

Spanish: Piedad Mendoza, Music Director, ext. 315, pmendoza@stclementpc.org

It is the Music Ministry’s mission to support the congregation in their worship through song.  The Music Ministry does this by selecting appropriate songs and leading the congregation in song. This is our true role as music ministers—to support and enhance the worship experience for the congregation — because the congregation is the true choir of our church and to sing is to pray twice!

There are a number of opportunities to help lead our church in song. Voices are welcomed at all the English and Spanish masses. Instrumentalists are in demand at Masses. We also need help with projecting the songs and prayers during the Mass — which is just another way of leading the congregation on song and prayer.  So, as you can see — whether you feel you can sing or not — there is a place for you in the Music Ministry.

English choir practice is held on Wednesday nights—7:00pm—in the practice room.  Please contact Piedad Mendoza for the Spanish choir rehearsal days and times.

If you are interested or have questions, please come up after Mass and talk to the music director or one of the members of the choir.

READERS: Nicole and James Villa (813) 763-3840 or nicole.villa@outlook.com /Ericka Arriaga (813) 704-8638 (Español)

Those who serve in the Ministry of Reader share a great responsibility with other liturgical ministers to prepare and reflect on the readings, in an effort to enhance the assembly’s experience of the liturgy.

SACRISTANS

Sacristans are responsible for the physical needs at every Mass, preparing the altar, sacred vessels, setting out the bread and wine and ensuring the lectionary is set properly and that the credence table is properly prepared.
